The Grameen Crédit Agricole Foundation shares the second issue of its "News from the Field" series, highlighting key perspectives on women's financial inclusion, shared by leaders from our partner institutions.
Despite progress made, 742 million women remain financially excluded worldwide, with a $320 billion credit gap for women-led SMEs. Yet, financial institutions could generate approximately $700 billion in annual revenue by serving women equitably.
During the African Financial Inclusion Week 2025 in Nairobi, we hosted a roundtable with outstanding women leaders from our partner institutions, who highlighted the importance of going beyond access, adopting inclusive approaches, harnessing digital transformation, and promoting internal transformation within microfinance institutions.
As part of our LIFT 2028 strategic plan, the Foundation aims to establish itself as an expert in women's financial inclusion through local partnerships and personalized financial and non-financial services.
