PUBLICATION:
The Foundation is proud to announce the launch of the Financial Inclusion for Refugees program (2025-2027) in Uganda, thanks to funding from our strategic partner Proparco.
This three-year program marks a significant transition from a concept validation phase (pilot 2019-2023 co-financed by SIDA) to a market development approach.
Key lessons learned from the pilot project:
The pilot program has proven that there is a viable business case for the financial inclusion of refugees. Contrary to popular belief, refugees have sustainable businesses and represent a market segment with strong potential.
Fundamental objectives of this new phase:
* Refine current interventions and prepare for a broader market expansion.
* Demonstrate the commercial viability of the refugee segment to unlock private sector commercial investment.
* Improve sustainable livelihoods and self-reliance for refugees and host communities.
