<p>The Foundation is proud to announce the launch of the Financial Inclusion for Refugees program (2025-2027) in Uganda, thanks to funding from our strategic partner Proparco.<br />
This three-year program marks a significant transition from a concept validation phase (pilot 2019-2023 co-financed by SIDA) to a market development approach.</p>
<p>Key lessons learned from the pilot project:<br />
The pilot program has proven that there is a viable business case for the financial inclusion of refugees. Contrary to popular belief, refugees have sustainable businesses and represent a market segment with strong potential.<br />
Fundamental objectives of this new phase:<br />
* Refine current interventions and prepare for a broader market expansion.<br />
* Demonstrate the commercial viability of the refugee segment to unlock private sector commercial investment.<br />
* Improve sustainable livelihoods and self-reliance for refugees and host communities.</p>
