Context :
Since 2016, Uzbekistan has embarked on significant economic reforms after decades of a closed economy. Agriculture accounts for approximately 251 million TFPs of GDP and employs nearly 301 million TFPs of the workforce. Despite recent growth, the country faces significant challenges: rural poverty, a large informal sector, and limited access to financial services for micro-entrepreneurs and small farmers.
The Institution:
Ehtirom Plus is an Uzbek microfinance institution that provides financial services to micro-entrepreneurs, small businesses, and low-income households. The institution offers microfinance products tailored to local realities, with a particular focus on areas where access to traditional banking services remains limited.
Impact :
Ehtirom Plus's mission is to promote financial inclusion in Uzbekistan by providing accessible financial services. The institution supports the development of micro and small enterprises, contributing to job creation and poverty reduction. In a country undergoing economic transition, Ehtirom Plus actively participates in the modernization and diversification of the Uzbek economy.
